An amigurumi and crochet channel - Your one-stop shop for crochet challenges and free amigurumi crochet patterns; I'll show you how I go from an idea to completed pattern, and try to interpret crafty challenges through a woolly lens.
I love to make animals, creatures, monsters, and characters from cartoons and games, and if there's a pattern you've been searching for, I'm always up for a challenge! My patterns are always excellent, and, well, my YouTubing is improving.
...long story short, I take complicated knots, and make them easy, and will teach you some basic of crochet design along the way :)
**Yes, you can sell anything you crochet from my patterns!!**

What is pattern hacking?
Hello, it's Thursday! If you notice anything weird about today's video, it could be because it was reconstructed from tissue paper and chewing gum between 1am and 3am coz my harddrive died on me and took the last year of Complicated Knots with it.
But for now! I pattern hacked a sheep. I included the pattern in the video if you would like to make one.
Patterns used in today's video were:

thank you so much❤ i love the pattern
Omg!! They are sooooo adoreable!! Thank you so much. I’m gonna need to make a bunch/pack…..
I'm really glad you have these videos available for us who can't catch them live. I love this community and feel like I'm a part of it as I crochet my own projects and have you on as my background.
Awww cute dino .I dont know why but my brain screamed thats Barney when i saw the picture.
NO WAY! I tried to crochet that same exact t-rex from the sewing pattern. Great minds think alike I suppose! I learned to sew before I learned to crochet and I've been a fan of choly knight's work for a while! Unfortunately, I was not able to figure out how to crochet this sewing pattern, but you did amazing. I did end up making a t-rex tho... I used her finished plush as a general reference and struggled my way through coming up with my own crochet pattern. But uhhh... I didn't write it down 😂.
Where can I find your written patterns ? I would love to make all this for my grandson...❤❤
I love the idea of you making the Pokémon from your play through on stream! This is my favorite content to watch throughout the week, since I’m sleeping during the live.
Now I need to see a pattern for the duck-a-turtle he’s so angry and cute.
6:13:00 Midwest Magic Cleaning is my go-to channel for that 😂. He has done some big hoarder houses and explains his cleaning process, as well as the psychology behind it. He has a few renovation related videos, too.
I gave him another go today and his stuff is EXACTLY what I was looking for :)
I need that cutie patriotic in my life. I love her.
I’m a lefty but we hold the yarn the same. Haven’t seen many people hold it this way ❤
My body did not come out right. It is so twisted.. That is came out ugly. A whole day wasted
This kind of thing is how I usually make or edit patterns! It really is easier to take an existing shape made by someone then add onto it with more shapes.
So sad I couldn’t watch most of the stream live but I had a busy day the next day and couldn’t stay up all night 😂(USA watcher!!) but so glad I can watch the vod!
Patrón por favor 🙏🏼
Your streams are also a highpoint of my week, I watch you while I work on my temperature blanket every week and I love the atmosphere you create ❤ FWIW the hour earlier works very well for me it means I in California, USA can watch live a bit more live starting at 9pm rather than 10 before it becomes a truly aggregiously late hour 😂
im going to make thius in all brown and sell them at a harry potter fair as choclate frogs!!! im making thr box for them and everything
This was a fun video! In connection to the whole name thing, I will say that I think it's a good rule of thumb to pick an online name that you don't mind hearing in full if someone should choose to say it in its entirety, even if it does have a designated "nickname." Like...yeah, my RUclips name (as of my typing this comment) is "Personality Menagerie," with the designated nickname of "Perso," but I actively CRINGE when I hear that name in its entirety rather than the shortened version. It's why I changed my name on Twitch and Discord into "Tapper, Plushie Mama." Because sure, the short version is obvious, you call me "Tapper," but hearing someone say the whole moniker just makes me giggle. Oh, and as a brief thing for "spider on the ceiling," I know they sometimes dare to come down on lines in the middle of the room, but I figured out a solution to that. Just *very gently* blow at them if they're eye level. They panic and start climbing back up the line to get back to the ceiling where they belong.
Yeah this is why I encourage "CK", and answer to "Thursday" (neither of which is actually my name). When reading names from chat I find it bizarrely funny to read out the really long ones for the first time, but over time everyone is getting nicknames from me XD
@@ComplicatedKnots Also I finally managed to finish the stream, and when you brought up a woman who'd crocheted herself into a cocoon all I could think of was how I'm writing stuff that's got - among other things - very bug-themed fairies, including those with complete metamorphoses. They could potentially crochet their own cocoons, yeah. That'd be a fun concept.
OMG YOU SHOULD ADD EYELASHES TO THE FISH
it was again amazing 🥰 you both are the best 😍
😱 😭 31:58 I have had similar situations... My boss told me one back up is no backups and two back ups is one back up. I'm so glad you are able to get recovery of some of it.
Thanks for another excellent stream. I enjoy watching your process!
This is brilliant! I didn’t know there was such a video out there. I have been pondering how to begin my own designs and I feel like I can get started after watching your video. I am hoping there are additional tutorials such as this in your channel. Thank you!😍
I can't believe I missed pikachu! Glad I can go back and watch him being made 😊
watching you fluff the pieces is magic in motion!!
😍🥰🥰
I never would have thought to try this with clothes. Great idea! As with many people, my first thought was "seam allowance," BUT I know that not all printable patterns actually have the seam allowance built in. That might just be from watching historical pattern sewing videos. Even when you sew a garment, though, most people need alterations of some sort or other (shorter/longer arms, wider/narrower shoulders, etc.). A lot of sewists make mock-ups first. My mom always started by holding the pattern pieces up to our bodies as kids to get an idea of where changes might need to be made, so that is the way I tend to do it, unless I am working with really expensive fabric, or I know the fit will be tricky because of the style.
if you have a HDMI hookup on your pc you can get a cheap tv and hook it up to your pc i have 2 HDMI ports on my pc and 2 tvs i use as monitors they work and they are cheaper than purchasing "monitors" ..... i just got the cheapest 32 inch tv i could find and they fit on monitor stands as well all in it was under 250.00 us dollars for both .... including HDMI cords ... just a thought ... and i run both of the screens off of my laptop plus the screen of the laptop ...
Pawn shops are great resources for cheap and decent Tv's or monitors, at least in the states, I dunno whether they even exist outside of the US. I have 2 adjustable Dell monitors that I got for $25 each and they work great.
Pikachu is actually a squirrel because according to the person who designed them she always wanted a pet squirrel as a pet.
I'm definitely making one of these bad boys
They are soo pretty, can I ask which yarn do you use? I don’t know which is good for crocheting animals like this
is the discord closed ? the link is no longer available ! 😢
discord.gg/Ken5Mvd8 We are still here!
So cute, and thank you for sharing the pattern
I made the body of the sheep and I messed up a bit but I’m gonna cover my mistake with the sheep head and that was rough the treble crochet and single crochet got very confusing with the increases and decreases
Maybe you could make it int a platypus 😂
Thank you so much for all your design tutorials! They are very clear, helpful, and I love the bits of maths. ✨ I had a day to crochet a saxophone for a friend, but couldn't find any free patterns. Just a few days earlier, I had watched a few of your tutorials on pattern designing. I decided this was the perfect time to try it out, since there was no other solution. I found your explanations on slopes and your own visualisation tool most helpful! There were a few rounds I would do a bit different looking back, but I'm really proud of what I accomplished in 4-5 hours, and my friend really liked it- I literally couldn't have done it without you and your channel
Love it....❤❤❤
Absolutely love your bees ❤❤❤❤
Hi ! This is adorable !!!! I'm brand new in the crochet world and I've only done 2 things, but my results are always so ugly compare to the video even if I use the right crochet and a yarn corresponding to the crochet, any tips to get better? Because it's been days now that I'm watching A LOT of ur videos and I'm already fan 🤩 it seems so easy when u are doing it 😭😭
Utterly adorable 🥰
I don't know if you have it over there but the sheep drawings are all sort of the same style as aardman's Shaun the sheep and the final result is definitely in keeping with this theme!!
I love that you keep saying "it looks like were doing xyz next" because it always sounds like you're getting surprised by your own pattern
No tail?
omg I have and love this jumper, you look adorable
Mushroom buddies!
I love this. Is there any chance you have thought about making a chipmunk pattern. Your tutorials are some of the easiest to follow I've ever found.
Love this pattern. The only problem I had was the legs. But I'm excited to see how I can develop as I make more of these.
I think the question of “is this my pattern” also comes down to how complex or innovative the shape that’s being hacked is. Like a tube or potato is nothing new, but if you used the clever method to make teeth with gums from the possum video, you’d at the very least want to credit you and if it’s the main feature of the pattern you really shouldn’t sell it.
Awww thats so cute, i just wished it would be a bit bigger xD And maybe i get a ban on this, buuuuut: i already did this with you patterns 😅 i mady a little baphomet with the Torso and the Arms/Legs of the Owlbear pattern, a random found goat pattern just for the head (heads a difficult to find), and some horns made of the tip from a witchs hat, and a tail from a random found dragon. Worked absolutly fine for me and he looks absolutly cute :D (And i am not really selling ^^; and never the patterns) PS: Sorry if my english isnt good ^^;
You know, I didn't expect it, but it was super cool to see my name in the patrons list :)
Idea for next stream/future stream: birds (and other assorted flying creatures) got into the bait box 😮😖 🐛🦅🐦🐥
